Something to say: | [F/17/USA] Looking for a culture-oriented pen pal or post card! (Especially Japan) Hi! I'm Audree Rose, a 17 year old American girl in Georgia, USA. I was born in Yokosuka, Japan when my dad was in the military and have moved 7 times since then. I have been learning Japanese for 3 years, but slowly, so I'm not very proficient. I just started learning Dutch. I have 3 dogs, 7 fish, 1 frog, and a praying mantis! (Spiny Flower Mantis) My interests: The Legend of Zelda, Japan, Nintendo, YouTube, journalling, art, snail mail, yoga, pilates, anthropology, culture, foreign language, science, Breaking Bad, Disney, Ellen DeGeneres, Elon Musk, psychology, Reddit, history, rocks/minerals, astronomy So, enough about me! I am looking to exchange letters and cultural items. I'm very interested in the differences between our lives. I am asking especially for Japan considering I was born there (but didn't stay for long) and I'm learning Japanese. However, of course I'm fine with anyone foreign! Some ideas for what I like to give/receive in an envelope and letter: • How my school and classes are • What I like to go do with my friends • What my daily schedule is like • How my location is (forest, city, crowded, urban, rural, etc.) • What my country's education is like • Why I like to send pen pal letters and post cards. • Small doodles and colorful decorations • If you know a language besides English, it'd be cool for you to write a tidbit in that language (with a translation for me, please!) • A small amount of your country's currency if you like foreign currency (P.S. Yes, this is legal in most places! Just be sure to Google your area!) I want to collect currency from around the world. Right now I only have a 5 yuan from China. • Small papers from your country like brochures, business cards, pictures, tickets, etc. They don't have to be anything special, I just like to see the differences in language and design. For example, something as simple as a bus or train ticket is cool to me because I don't ever use a bus or train. |
